At Radisson Hotel, the landscape design was inspired by Mangalore’s unique relationship with the sea. Situated in a city shaped by centuries of maritime culture, estuaries, and coastal trade, the project sought to create a hospitality experience that extends beyond the building and immerses guests in the character of the region. The challenge was to develop a cohesive landscape experience across multiple levels of the hotel while maintaining a strong connection to the site’s coastal identity and ensuring that every outdoor space contributed meaningfully to the guest journey.

We approached this challenge by drawing inspiration from the rhythm, movement, and visual language of water. The landscape concept translates the essence of Mangalore’s coastline into a series of interconnected experiences, where fluid forms, layered planting, and carefully integrated water features create a sense of continuity throughout the development. Rather than treating each landscape pocket independently, the design establishes a unified narrative that flows from the arrival experience at the ground level to the elevated recreational and hospitality spaces above.

This design approach allowed us to create a diverse range of outdoor environments across multiple levels of the hotel. The ground floor welcomes guests through landscaped arrival courts, water features, lotus ponds, gathering lawns, decks, and seating spaces that soften the transition from city to resort. Upper levels introduce intimate lounges, event terraces, art installations, feature walls, and landscaped social spaces that provide opportunities for relaxation and interaction. The rooftop becomes the culmination of the experience, featuring an infinity-edge swimming pool, pool deck, pool bar, open dining spaces, shaded lounges, and panoramic views that celebrate the connection between the city and the sea.

What makes the landscape of Radisson Hotel truly distinctive is its ability to weave together hospitality, culture, and nature into a single immersive experience. The final outcome is elegant, contemporary, and deeply rooted in its context. Through water, planting, materiality, and carefully choreographed spatial experiences, the landscape transforms the hotel into more than a destination, it becomes a celebration of Mangalore’s coastal heritage, offering guests a memorable environment that balances luxury, relaxation, and a strong sense of place.
