The landscape concept for Cairo Festival City Hotel Complex is inspired by the idea of a desert oasis—a premium hospitality environment where lush greenery, shaded outdoor spaces, and water features come together to create a memorable guest experience. In response to the challenge of introducing a rich landscape setting within an arid context, the design is centered around the project’s key amenities, transforming them into a series of vibrant, comfortable, and visually striking outdoor destinations.

A grand sense of arrival is established through a parametric entrance feature, which gives the hotel a strong identity and creates an elegant transition from the urban edge into the resort-like interior. Throughout the site, wooden shade structures are designed to mimic the form and canopy of trees, reinforcing the oasis character while providing essential comfort and microclimatic relief. These architectural landscape elements help define pathways, gathering spaces, and recreational areas, adding both function and sculptural value to the experience.

Planting design plays a central role in expressing this concept. A carefully curated palette of palms, low-water-use species, and adaptive vegetation is combined with an efficient drip irrigation system to achieve a sustainable yet luxuriant landscape. The result is a balanced environment that feels green, refined, and immersive, while remaining responsive to the realities of the desert climate. Together, the landscape and architecture create a distinctive hotel setting that is both environmentally considered and experientially rich.
